Uniworks Designs had the privilege of designing and executing an 8,000 sq. ft. Animal Genetics Research Center in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad—a highly specialized facility focused on advanced research in veterinary genetics and molecular biology.

Project Vision

The client’s primary goal was to create an efficient, sterile, and knowledge-driven environment where researchers could work with precision and comfort. The space had to accommodate wet labs, research bays, data analysis zones, and administrative cabins, all while ensuring strict compliance with biosafety protocols.

Design Philosophy

We approached this project with a function-first mindset, blending scientific accuracy with modern, minimalist interiors. Spatial flow, zoning, and controlled circulation paths were key to maintaining operational integrity across the research and admin zones.

Key Zones Delivered:

• Controlled-entry laboratory spaces with anti-static flooring and sterile-grade materials

• Sample handling and preparation areas with modular casework and integrated storage

• Data rooms and digital analysis labs with ergonomic setups

• Administrative block with private cabins, a conference room, and discussion pods

• Pantry, utility, and change-room facilities adhering to clean-room transition guidelines

Challenges Managed

1. Biosafety & HVAC Integration
   Designing a space where airflow, temperature control, and biosafety coexist required precision. We collaborated with MEP consultants and lab planning experts to ensure correct air pressure zoning and exhaust management.

2. Custom Lab Furniture & Finishes
   The client’s research workflow demanded non-standard lab tables, chemical-resistant countertops, and high-durability surfaces. We custom-fabricated these in sync with equipment dimensions and researcher inputs.

3. Strict Compliance Documentation
   Every design and build step had to pass institutional audit. We maintained detailed documentation, material certifications, and execution reports to facilitate smooth client approvals and inspections.

The finished space is a high-functioning, compliant research environment that reflects scientific discipline and modern design sensibility. Clean lines, neutral tones, and intuitive zoning help researchers stay focused and productive.
